Travel 2.0 is a term coined by PhoCusWright, a company dedicated to travel innovation and responsible for several important conferences in that field.
For this post, Travel 2.0 is every website that allows the user to be in control of what he sees, reads, writes and chooses. Above all, this websites, have an integrated social network structure even if they don’t seem social sites at first sight. Also included are tools that make our life easier when considering choosing and getting info on our destinations.

Thanks for this list. Lots I haven’t heard of before. Of the new ones, I liked iloho and Dopplr the best and recommend that others check them out.
I was surprised that I’m in! (www.imin.com) didn’t make the list. It is an interesting site that lets you find great trip ideas for a group of friends and then plan / organize all the details online (who’s in, activities, sharing photos, discussions, etc.)
Ditto for GroupAbout (www.groupabout.com). Great tools for small group travel from researching to booking to sharing info - in our case, a girls getaway weekend. We directly booked hotels, air, car, & concert tickets.
